CirKids was founded on the model of non-profit, parent participation. This strategy continues to be an effective way to defer fee increases and enhance our community.
The Volunteer Deposit:
Deposits are paid at the time of registration and returned after the calendar
year if you have contributed your volunteer hours.
Rates are calculated on the number of children enrolled from one family and the hours students attend classes.
- Lions and Tiger parents are not required to pay a volunteer deposit although are welcome to volunteer.
- Ringmaster, Centre Ring, and Centre Stage
- deposit $200.00
- minimum 20 volunteer hours per year for a full refund
- Performance
- deposit $300.00
- minimum 30 volunteer hours per year for a full refund
Second and subsequent children from one family pay an additional $50.00 each per year, equivalent to a minimum of 5 hours work per child, per family.
Working off your hours:
- When you register your child(ren) fill out the volunteer sheet listing the areas where you can help. The volunteer coordinator will call.
- Be pro-active - check with the volunteer coordinator or the GM, read the newsletter and bulletin boards for posted requests for volunteers.
- Hours are tracked on an honour system.
- Each family is asked to complete a simple form (provided in June by the administration) indicating how many hours and on which activities.
Refunds:
At the end of the calendar year your deposit is returned after you
have filled out the form (provided in June by administration) outlining your
volunteer contribution. Fax, mail, or give the form to the General Manager.
Do not give it to your child?s coach. One of three refund
rules apply:
- If you have not worked your hours you do not qualify for a refund
- If you do not fill out and return the form, your refund will be forfeited
- If you have fulfilled your volunteer commitment, you may choose to donate your deposit and receive a tax credit - but please indicate this choice on the form
Please note: We can no longer roll deposits over to the next year.
